Artificial intelligence is quickly becoming part of how students learn, create, search, communicate and work.

The question is no longer whether students will use AI. The more important question is how they will use it.

This course introduces students to generative AI as a powerful creative and productivity tool while emphasizing that technology should support human thinking—not replace it.

Students will:

  • Learn what generative AI is and what it can—and cannot—reliably do.

  • Practice writing stronger prompts.

  • Understand why AI can generate inaccurate or invented information.

  • Explore bias and the importance of questioning AI outputs.

  • Discuss originality, attribution, copyright and ethical AI use.

  • Compare using AI as a shortcut versus using AI as a collaborator.

  • Create personal guidelines for responsible AI use.

  • Experiment with using AI to brainstorm, organize or improve an original idea.

Students leave with a practical AI framework they can continue using throughout school, work and their future careers.
